Description Zakynthos
Zakynthos is the southernest and third in extent and population island of Ionian
Islands. Her geographic place allows to the traveller to visit easily also the
other islands of Ionian or still to travel until the opposite coast of
Peloponnese.
Island full of oppositions Zakynthos is in its biggest part mountainous, with low pinewoods mountains and fertile plains. In northern, Eastern and southerly innumerable are its graphic beaches, while in the westerners, in its imposing rocky coasts, take shape a lot of marine caves as the marvellously Light blue Cave in north-westernly of the island.
The climate of Zakynthos is soft Mediterranean with a lot of rains and big sunlight. In this obviously it owes also its always rich vegetation.
It is an island that constituted for a lot of centuries a crossroad of populations and cultures.
