Description Kastelorizo
Kastelorizo or Megisti as it is officially known the
island from the ancient years is found in the south-eastern utmost of the greek
territory. It is a mountainous and rocky island and belongs in the cluster of
Dodecanesus. The capital Kastelorizo assembles all the residents of the island,
is constituted by the districts Pigadia and Chorafia and it continues up to
Mandraki (a small graphic harbour). Kastelorizo is amphitheatrically built in
root of hill, embracing the three slopes of the gulf.
The picturesqueness of the landscape reaching Kastelorizo is difficulty described. The dyed in impressive colours two-storied and three-storied mansions with the wooden stairs and balconies, the graphic harbour and the paved with flagstones alleys compose a splendid spectacle. The all settlement is considered preservable and offers to the visitor the beauty of an idyllic landscape and the sense of passed glory.
